The MacBook and MacBook Pro performance significantly better than their predecessors. As you may already know that faster processors (even with the optimization of energy they are capable of the Intel chip) require more power to operate, and that automatically means more heat.
The MacBook and MacBook Pro, especially, seem to warm up when the processor is in extensive tasks and also when the battery is recharging.

Although Apple states that the battery in the MacBook Pro 15″ can hold charge about 4.5 hours, but everybody knows that that is hold true for the first few months after used. Therefore, you might want to extend the battery life by follow the procedures:
- Don’t drain your battery unless you want to calibrate (once a month is ok). You can charge it only any power level but lower than 5% is not a good idea. If you drain it completely every time, your battery will see its grave long be for it suppose to.
- Keep up with the new latest battery firmware update, this proved to extend any apple notebook batteries to hold charge about 1 hour or a little more. I have upgrade my battery’s firmware with great result.
- When MacBook start to heat up, if you don’t like it, just save some energy by opening the Energy Saver pane of System Preferences, choose battery from the drop-down menu settings, and change the parameter optimization in Battery life improved. To get the most from the battery, there should be a complete cycle of charging at least once a month. To do that, just leave your MacBook on until it runs out of power then goes to sleep by itself.
