Less than an inch thick, it weighs 6.6 pounds. And the built-in battery can last up to 8 hours (4 with a lot of applications running). The LED-backlit display has a 1920×1200 resolution, 700:1 contrast ratio, wide viewing angle, and 60-percent greater color gamut than previous MacBooks. However, the steep price rises when you add the matte screen and if you upgrade the processor to 2.93 GHz from 2.66 GHz and RAM to 8GB from 4GB.

How to install Mac OS X on PC?

We could previously not install Mac OS X on PCs due to different architecture.
Indeed, Apple computers used until recently a processor architecture known as “PPC (Power PC), while PC use architector generally called” x86 “. the x may be replaced by the figure of a generation. For example, the operating system MS-Windows XP is i386, dating back 80 years, while some other more advanced, like BSD, Linux, etc. use the i686 (1995), and 64bit.

Question about Mac OS X Tiger / MacBook?

I installed Windows XP SP2 with the drivers that I burned on CD (with bootcamp). The issue is that the network connection does not work. (Wired) Wifi + I for even a bug at the end of the install of drivers …
How did you do to run the net on Windows XP on your Macbook?

Easy, If you start with Boot Camp you find yourself with a standard PC and the same concerns in connection resolve that any PC, I use Parallels suuggere at least the PC running at the same time and you share the existing connection .

Mac OS X, Linux or Windows? What is the best OS?

For me, of course i would say Mac OS X all the way! But for many others they all feel have different perspective to each type of OS? However, even though i am a big fan of OS X but Windows 7 surprised me and almost had me switch back to Windows. Actually, i’m thinking about buying a PC notebook because the improvement of the new Windows 7. The interface makes much more sense to use than all the previous Windows versions which is exactly what Microsoft needs, OS that makes sense to use (plus better graphic from booting up to shutting down, no more dos command line and bad out of range resolution shit!).

Linux is a too-uncommon-system for many, although its capabilities are enormous, we can not do much of anything above. I have a friend who rely on Linux night and day, he hardly needs his mouse. It’s like a modern dos machine to him.

PCs are not exellent, but they are the ones who are most compatible with most software, but the best mac OSX is not very simple at first seen, but much of this option when the mastery well. The keyboard shortcuts are for example the supreme illustration of the superiority of the mac since the beginning of apple os which Windows developer still don’t understand.

To me you don’t have to be intelligence at computing to use a mac, anyone can use it, and realize the ease of execution in every way, it born to be friendly from the beginning. For someone not gifted in computer Pc are the most accessible. One of the biggest advantages of mac is that there are all sorts of settings to customize the computer in the configuration as pleasant.

The WWDC keynote address was getting closer and in the Mac Web hype has reached global main stream. Events like the Monday do not affect just sending ton of fans of the apple jelly metaphorically in their brains learned doses of waiting and privacy, but often they are turned into real detective ready to flush out every hair out of place that might indicate a few hours advance of the arrival of a new product and can reveal some unknown particular.

So that’s coming directly from San Francisco the first pictures of the posters hanging inside the Moscone Center (photo at the beginning of post), while not far away, in Fremont, one tries to understand what is in the mysterious box and the Apple brand in Australia a bundle found by MacTalk marked with the words “do not open before 10 June.” Let’s do some ‘order.

Install OS X Leopard on PC using VMware

After some time I am going to write this part of what I had promised myself not to write more. I am proud as a Mac OS X user for almost over 8 years but for many reasons use Windows and Linux without slightest hesitation when necessary and I believe and I believe that each operating system has its advantages and disadvantages.

I have therefore decided to give QUACH advice on how to install Mac OS X Leopard on a PC simply to allow those who were particularly curious to try this operating system and evaluate its goodness in atypical situations and criticism as it can be to be installed on a computer rather different from those for it was created and optimized.

In many persist in wanting to use Mac OS X version 10.5 in better known as Leopard, as the first operating system on their PC and sometimes for business purposes / commercial and the thing, besides being very prohibitive if you have no knowledge.

Well, having said that I think if you want to test Mac OS X Leopard on your PC and you are not particularly experienced or just do not want to jeopardize the integrity of your PC, the best solution is to use a Virtual Machine that allows you to do no harm and at the same time to evaluate whether the purchase of a Mac for your needs is just right for you or not.

As its name suggests basically two things you’ll need to complete the whole:

1. A copy of VMware Workstation
2. Mac OS X Leopard in version iATKOS, Kalyway or iDeneb that you can find on several networks Torrent

Note well that there are two commercial software to use and then be in compliance with the law and your conscience as it would take at least a license purchased regularly. How do you say? Luck favors the prepared.

My advice is to burn it to DVD on Mac OS X download so you can use later to install without too much trouble, although I believe that we can exploit the ISO on VMware for this use but I have too many experience in the field (on VMware Fusion on Mac you can do …)

Yes, a MacBook is technically a notebook like any other, sometimes the competition is even more powerful and cheaper, but if you love Mac Laptops, what else can you do other than buying one.

- The aluminum housing guarantees a perfectly processed and high-quality notebook

- The battery is great for me in practice runs for 4.5 hours at maximum brightness setting, and WLAN

- The MagSafe connector protected from the consequences if you accidentally stumble on the charger

- A backlit keyboard allows a much more comfortable typing in the evening and in the dark

- Faster standby. Simply fold out, just flip. Only works on Mac OS X makes it easy

- The side speakers not only look beautiful, they also sound great too for a notebook

- The large glass trackpad button without disturbing a real mouse replacement, no comparison to conventional notebooks

- A battery indicator, which displays the charging status of the battery even when machine is turned off

Battery life, real 7 hours for my usual applications: writing, Internet and Office.

The bad news for me is the fan. At first I was very excited, but the excitement is gone after a month. One of the two fan started to rattle. Only just a little bit at first, then it quickly became so extreme that i could bare using it anymore. I had to get it fixed.

I went to an Apple store and have claimed the fan – this was also replaced without hesitation.However, that began just four weeks later the new fan to rattle and I can make myself again on the way to the Apple Store. Here is obviously a manufacturing fault, and I have created the fear of the dark and the next fan does not help. But i know this issue is like 1 in a 100 thing. There is a great chance that you won’t have to deal with this like me. So, good luck to you all.

Expose on OS X Snow Leopard

Apple released the first update for OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.1 after a few days before official release. And it is undoubtedly the launch has been a little hasty to distance up to the release of Windows 7.

Expose is one of the things that has improved over earlier versions, giving it a little more order and functionality. Exposé is an original feature of Mac OS X and was first shown on 23 June 2009 WWD as a new feature from OS X 10.3. Exposé allows you to quickly locate an open window, move easily between them, hide all, organize, … all with a click. We could compare to Compiz on Linux and Windows Flip 3D on Vista or Windows 7, but OS X has an edge in this. More information on Wikipedia.

Apple did the end and we needed some order in the windows, and can be ordered to seize the available space on the screen much better than before, but also includes some new tricks to match the dock and some applications. We leave an interesting summary below:

* By pressing command-1 Order visible windows in Exposé at the time by name (also shown below each window).
* By pressing Command-2 implementation and sort alphabetically.
* In permit applications, like Safari 4.03 (Firefox, Opera, Chrome, … not yet, but will) just have to start typing the name of a window to select it.
* If you press space being above a selected window will zoom it to see it better.
* If we show the selector applications / windows open (command-tab in OS X and alt-tab in Windows) can also activate Exposé, but this time only the windows or windows application type selected, now moves the cursor up or down to select a window. In this way the active application is highlighted in the Dock to avoid doubts that window is.
* When you display Exposé to see the windows of an application, which will be minimized at the bottom separated by a line of which are active.
* Another new feature of OS X Snow Leopard is to minimize the windows directly on its icon in the Dock so that we reduce the size of our bar when windows or minimize many active applications.

See through Quicklook Folder + View animated content

It seems that the Snow Leopard comes with many hidden functions that would take years to know them all.

The first one is perhaps not very useful but very cool. It’s the possibility of seeing through Quicklook folder and view its content. This is not here, the icon is “dynamic” as it somehow and if we throw the files through the translucent folder.

Steps:

1. Close the finder (you can achieve through Activity Monitor)
2. Open Terminal and type the following (you can copy and paste)

defaults write com.Apple.finder QLEnableXRayFolders 1

3. Make a “relaunch” of the finder and go!

If you want to reverse this function should repeat the steps but replace the 1 by a 0

How to Combine / Join avi.001 avi.002 on Mac OS X

No matter how long you’ve been using your Mac (or worst, PC), there will always be undiscovered dark-matter issues to solve. They never seem to end. And today is that day which reminds me that this will never be over.

It’s about new file type that may have passed your eyes before, but it’s completely out-of-this-world to me.

Their extensions look something like this: avi.001 avi.002 avi.003 and so on. Anybody would have guess that these file must be multiple zips or rars files, waiting to be joined together again. However, even Stuffit can’t handle them. In fact, it has no idea what the heck those files are. So did i.

After googled about an hour i have found that many suggested me to try the free PC software called “HJSplit” I tried it and it worked! But since the only PC in my house does belong to my wife i will have to find a way to join those avi.001, avi.002, avi.003 on my Mac.

After googled about an hour more, did not find any answers at all. A guy told me to use unrarx. But since I want to join files not to extract them, unrarx is out of the question.

So, i turned to my long time helper, versiontracker.com and search for ”join .001″ and the search is over. I have found the best software for this job. Ajoiner.

This software doesn’t even have interface. Only thing you need to do is open the folder which contains those alien files .001 .002…. When i was ready to join my files into a movie, it told me that 2 of my files aren’t complete. Without it telling me that, i would be blaming everything else but those files.

Thanks to Ajoiner, you just saved my day. Oh, and while you’re at it, also give Split&Concat software a try. It suppose to do the same job as well.
