The WWDC keynote address was getting closer and in the Mac Web hype has reached global main stream. Events like the Monday do not affect just sending ton of fans of the apple jelly metaphorically in their brains learned doses of waiting and privacy, but often they are turned into real detective ready to flush out every hair out of place that might indicate a few hours advance of the arrival of a new product and can reveal some unknown particular.

So that’s coming directly from San Francisco the first pictures of the posters hanging inside the Moscone Center (photo at the beginning of post), while not far away, in Fremont, one tries to understand what is in the mysterious box and the Apple brand in Australia a bundle found by MacTalk marked with the words “do not open before 10 June.” Let’s do some ‘order.

Billboards of the WWDC. Gernot Poetsch has posted on Flickr a set of pictures stolen in the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Nothing unusual except that the posters photographs reveal a particular very nice bear the words OS X Leopard and OS X iPhone and there is no trace of the Mac symbol Why Apple decided to officially rename their operating systems ?

The first and perhaps only reason is that, as the synergy between the development platform Leopard and iPhone development platform is immediately identifiable, suggesting the idea of continuity and seamless integration between the two systems. In addition the iPhone is not a lot of Mac and iPhone users do not have a Mac so this news is related to the possible renewal. Mac, for the same reasons that will become Me.com or MobileMe.

Caulfield did not find any details that reveal the nature of the contents of these containers, but only discovered the anonymous speakers probably could hide the new device coming Monday. Stacked in the same square, the journalist noted cases similar to the first but unlike them explicit content of the iMac. The coordinator of the deposit has not commented and no one, not even a factory worker, was undone on the possible contents of the shipment.

The mysterious box Australia. A new rumor is also coming from the land of kangaroos. Across the world a source as “reliable” has provided the boys to MacTalk a photo that shows a box on the Apple brand which stands the words “Subject to terms of NDA. Do not open until Tuesday June 10th (subject to the terms of confidentiality. Do not open until Tuesday June 10).

The source claims that such promotional materials and exhibition for the new iPhone 3G, including perhaps a first prototype to show clients waiting for stocks to come true. Doubts about the veracity of this rumor remains. First, because with this easy to send a single box around the world before the official launch of view I think it’s risky to strict secrecy that has marked the launch of Apple’s new device, and second because I can not understand why the postmark is covered half the sheet with the directions (which however may not be glued on top of the box). What do you think?

After several announcements of new releases Snow beta aimed at developers, was released the final version of Mac OS X 10.5.8. Given that Snow Leopard, Mac OS X 10.6, is planned for September, this is likely the last version of Mac OS X Leopard.

The update, as always, available through Software Update (165 Mb) and soon via manual download (in standard version and combo), it is recommended by Apple to all Leopard users.

As indicated by Apple, includes general system fixes that enhance the operational stability, compatibility and security, as well as specific fixes for:
-Problems that may affect the reliability of Bluetooth
-Problems of compatibility and reliability when accessing a network station
-A problem that may cause some monitor resolutions do not appear in System Preferences Display

Wired Gadget Lab reports that the latest update of Mac OS X 10.5.7, would an improvement in power management. In reality, the test was not done on computers manufactured by Apple, but on a Netbook that installed Mac OS X, then the so-called hackintosh.

Assuming that the news is true, this could be due to an effective optimization of power management in Mac OS X, or it may be due the addition of support for the series Atom processors, which typically equipped Netbook the Dell products, MSI and others.

In particular, it appears that the new update has brought on a Netbook MSI, a 33% improvement in battery life (the test was done with a 6-cell battery to 4400 mAh), bringing the operating time of 3 hours and 45 minutes to more than 5 hours.

We look forward to reporting further on this subject, not only with regard to installations on laptops, but also and mainly on real Macs.

According to reports from the MacRumors site, the version of Boot Camp is included with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard will include drivers for Windows that will allow access to HFS +.

Boot Camp lets you install Windows and other operating systems on a secondary partition of your Mac OS X, and is indeed provided with a set of drivers that allow you to make best use of Windows on the Mac peripherals

But so far no direct access from Windows, the Mac OS partition of X (if not solutions using third party software), but it seems that from now on will be possible.

There is no fear but for the security of data on partitions Mac: it seems the media is read-only and will not, from Windows, the modification of files in HFS +. Should only allow access to your data (music, pictures, etc …), even from Windows (just as happens now with NTFS partitions of Windows, accessible directly from Mac OS X-only reading).

Since a few days after, the Mac OS X 10.5.7 was available for download. As always with a latest update, after the first installation there will often be many positive and negative things. And this latest 10.5.7 update is no acceptation, it comes with both bug fixes and the bugs itself, Yike!

The big improvement would be benefitcial to only users who has Core CPU. Because, Apple has changed the distribution of the CPU cores to do work aufbrummt.

A Photoshop expert who was once happy with 10.5.6 CPU cores, now needs to get higher CPU power for more extensive Photoshop tasks on a dual-CPU Mac Pro.

With 10.5.7, it reached a better Performance in some test sooner if it had turned on all kernels. If it deactivated kernels, the computer would become slower than with 10.5.6.

In his opinion, Apple already has something on the scale of tasks for multiple cores changed. Apple would also like Snow Leopard with more optimizations at this point to make, hopefully it will soon be available with least bugs and improve the performance of all our Mac machines.

According to two unknown sources have indicated to Business Week, Apple and Verizon may be launched in summer two devices similar to iPhone in early summer, an iPhone lite and what it has termed as Media Pad.

apple_tablet

The first would be an iPhone device smaller and less expensive. IPhone Light, as it is called, is smaller and thinner than the current iPhone, and cheaper, among other things that use the operating system and technology integrated into a single chip that also controls the graphic functions.

The second would be a “Media Pad” with a size smaller than an Amazon Kindle, but with a larger screen and a multimedia device that would reproduce photos, high definition movies, music, and would have enabled the ability to browse the Internet and make VoIP calls using Wi-Fi.

The most severely affected by this, is because AT & T gained exclusivity until 2010 with the iPhone, but these prototypes are not “iPhone” will have to wait events.
